The old second bell was inscribed:

MEARS AND STAINBANK, FOUNDERS, LONDON, 1908

WE PRAISE THEE, O GOD

The old 2nd bell

on the reverse

US

(The bell-hangers were from Eye, hence the eye symbol, “Day of Eye hung us”.)

  1. It is wonderful to see all the old and new bells together. I think it very important that we remember the inscriptions on the old bells as well as seeing the inscriptions on the new ones.
